Why EBS Manchester

Your way into Manchester's bar scene

Manchester runs on hospitality — hundreds of bars across the Northern Quarter, Ancoats and Deansgate, all after people who can actually work a shift. This is the fast way in.

Works here and abroad

The certificate Manchester bars already trust — and the same one recognised in 20+ countries when you want to bartend your way around the world.

A real Manchester bar

You train inside Double Down, a proper city-centre cocktail bar, on the exact kit Manchester's venues run on. Never a classroom.

Just 12 per class

Twelve students, not fifty — taught hands-on by people working Manchester bars right now. Real feedback, no back row to hide in.

Know the scene

Your instructors run real Manchester bars. By the end you'll know the owners and managers across the city who actually do the hiring.

FAQs

Still thinking?

Updated June 2026
Do I need experience to take the bartender course?
No experience is needed. Most EBS Manchester students have never worked behind a bar. The International Bartender Course starts with how to hold a shaker and finishes with you running a full service.
Will the course help me get a bartending job?
Yes. 95% of EBS graduates are employed within three months. Every graduate gets lifelong free access to Matchstaff, the EBS jobs platform, plus references and placement support.
Is the Manchester course the same as other EBS schools?
Yes. It is the identical International Bartender Course, with the same syllabus, exams and globally recognised certificates taught at EBS schools in over 20 countries. You simply complete it in Manchester.
Why are there only 12 seats per intake?
EBS Manchester runs out of a real working bar, and small classes mean every student gets serious hands-on time. Twelve is the maximum per intake, with three intakes a year, so places fill quickly.
What does the course cost, and what if I change my mind?
The International Bartender Course in Manchester costs £1,845, or £369 a month interest-free. A £150 deposit holds your seat, and you can get a full refund up to 30 days before your intake starts.
Can EBS help with accommodation in Manchester?
Yes. EBS Stay arranges subsidised accommodation near the bar for students who need somewhere to live during the four-week course.
